I asked the other day about connecting an additional storage heater up to my timed supply with its somewhat undersized tails.

I've now decided that it's probably better to connect one of the two storage heaters, or the immersion heater, to the constant supply via a new timer.

Which appliance would you suggest connecting via the additional timer? New heater or existing immersion?

Thanks...

Wire the immersion to the standard supply - it's relatively simple as it is a resistive load, and can safely be run off a 13-amp fuse-connection unit.
with a £20 timer between the FCU and the Immersion itself - and by the way, check that the immersion cupboard earth bonding is up to standard, where electricity and water combine.

Also, check you have true Econ7. If not (old white meter or other tarrif), the 'normal' lecky won't be cheap at night.

Look at your meter, hopefully you just have one with two rows of dials.

If you have two seperate meters, you dont have econ7.
