Hi,

We have a 3 year old electric shower pump installed - a Wickes something or other. Its been working perfectly to boost our hot water shower pressure. In the last month it has started to cut out after 5 mins or so - sometimes longer sometimes earlier. Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing this and, what can I do to correctly diagnose/fix?

Thanks all - I'm not great with water works so please be gently

what pump is it ? not someting or others no good.
pumping what shower or type ?
what feeds the cold ?

Most shower pumps have a certain runtime before they will get too hot and thermally shut down. This normally doesn't come into play on most pumps, but if yours is getting too hot, and also due to how much use it gets, this could be the cause. Does your somethingorother pump then operate after an initial period ? Or does it actually trip the mcb and you have to reset it ?
