Electric shower runs for 3 minutes then sputters out

Hi, could somebody please explain why my electric shower runs fine for about 3 minutes, then ' chokes', i.e. there is a change in the sound of the motor. It changes octave to a loud whine and the water stops flowing after several irritating intermittent blasts. Have to race through every shower to 'beat the clock' before this happens. Any suggestions?

Hi, if this is a power shower fed from the hot/cold storage tanks as opposed to being plumbed into the mains, it may be that your emptying the tanks in 3 minutes. Try turning the flow rate down.

Of cause, if its NOT a power shower.... erm, dunno.
