The eletric motor on my power washer when switched on sometimes makes a buzzing noise but fails to turn and drive the pump what could be the problem. Other times it goes ok. ??

Possibly the start capacitor faulty, what make is it? Or the other thing it could be that you have a restricted water supply, crap in the hose pipe to the washer or filter.

The make is a 3HP SHINKO it isw now refusing to drive only making a buzzing noise. There are 2 plastic cylinders at either side of the motor and the power input sits between any ideas can the capacitor be replaced seperately. there is no blockage the water flows freely. Thanks very much for your quick response.

Sorry that is not a manufacturer I have ever heard of & a Google search failed to help, if it is the type of pressure washer that only starts up when you press the trigger on the gun, as opposed to the type that start up at power on, then I would still be inclined to think that it may be a water supply problem rather than electrical, as it is unusual for capacitors to fail intermittently. However, if you have a meter & the skills you should be able to test if you have an input/output at the capacitor. If it does prove to be a faulty capacitor then you should be able to get an equivalent.
