I currently have a Combi boiler with a Drayton EMT2 manual timer and a WR1 wireless link to a thermostat. I had been considering replacing all with a Nest but am not sure it is worth it.

As a compromise I am looking at replacing the noisy and cumbersome EMT2 for a digital version. Is there anything I should be considering other than a straight swap with a drayton LP711?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just to close this off in case helpful to anyone else in the future...I went for the LP711, annoyingly its backplate is slightly different to the EMT2 but only by around 100mm so easy enough to swap and make good.
