Hi I am doing a bit of work for a family and the guy has given me this thing called an Energy minder+. It has a switch on it that can be set to Active or Bypass and 2 sensors and one flex with an earth connections and cables coloured brown, black, blue and grey. I have googled it and found some information but it is a little sketchy, can anyone help me. All the owner says is they sent this to him with no instructions or paperwork and told him it would save him money.

From what I looked up, it is mounted by the boiler with one sensor on the flow and one on the return but I could do with some help with the electrical cable with so many colours. I am assuming brown and blue and earth are obvious ie the current colours but where do you wire it to as one bit I read mentioned the wiring box and another mentioned the stat, so some guidance would be great if anyone knows how to connect it.

Any help appreciated.

Hi twgas, thanks yes it does help but I found this already and although it is helpful it is not completely so, or at least not for me, ie it shows 2 black wires and I have one black and one grey coming off the energy minder, so I wonder now if this implies that it does not matter which way round you conect them, can you advise with this part?

Also these connections all seem to be within what they call the Boiler Control Unit PCB, but what is this, I would have thought the wires would have been wired into a boiler wiring centre (especially as it said somewhere that it is quick and easy to do) but doesn't PCB mean a printed circuit board and if so is there on of these on all boilers? Basically what am I looking for to connect to do you think?

Is S/L going to be the stat live output?

Sorry for all the questions.
