Engineered Wood over Asphalt Floor

Hi all,
Any advice will be much appreciated on this.
I am renovating a 1960's property which has an asphalt layer over a concrete subfloor at ground level.
The Asphalt has recently been refreshed to give a level floor surface and is around 15mm thick over the concrete.
I need some advice regarding options for laying an engineered oak parquet floor over the asphalt.
Am I correct in thinking that a floating installation is my best bet?
I know Asphalt acts often as DPM but do I still need an underlay with vapour barrier/ DPM built in before floating the engineered wood?
I have read up lots on the subject but have seen various solutions mentioned.
