Greetings all

(A little history)
Ive just recently had to replace wishbones on my Escort what with all the numerous creaks and clicks not to mention the vering all over the road every time I even thought about touching the brake pedal.
The car was pulling to the left when under braking so I had to replace the front brake pads as they were worn.

During the change I noticed the near side pads were almost worn to the metal while the off side had still alot of pad left. The off side caliper was an absoloute sod to wind back since replacing the padsthe damn thing is pulling to the left even more.

I am thinking the piston in the caliper (though it looked ok)is in trouble but could it be another problem else where? Someone mentioned to me that it could be an air bubble in the pipes somewhere?

Would it be wirth replacing the caliper? (Cost is an issue though) Or is it an easy job to overhaul the caliper?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Zig :)

If it's pulling to the left and the n/s pads were worn more than the o/s then i'd say the o/s caliper is probably siezed (ie not working)

check the condition of your discs to, did the brakes judder when used? if so then the discs are deffo at fault, they may look unwarped, but change them and brake - smooth as silk like a new car :D

I replaced the caliper on Friday, took a little while for it to sort itself out after that but the car is now braking straight and now not pulling left.

Cheers for the replys folks
