Is this true?
Scottish born John Paul Jones FUSN, during the war of independance, sailed on a sorty from the USA to Whitehaven on the Cumbrian coast, a place he knew quite well. His objective was the burning of coal barges moored there... All went well, JPJ and crew made shore during darkness, but it was pizzing down with rain (as it does in C), the fires couldn't be raised so they all buggered off down the pub and got well pizzed .... Following this they sloped off from whence they came.
