Expansion Tank

I have an indirect boiler system. The heating system made a loud noise from the loft area.having checked it out I believe it was the vent pipe from the boiler to the expansion tank. The water in the expansion tank was very hot,which I don\\\'t believe is normal! Any ideas please.

nope its not normal

the system is pumping over so you may have a broken pump or blockages within the system

check the pump first
