Hello

I have recently moved into a new house (1950's) and the loft is already fully boarded with approx 70mm insulation under the boards. I did not want to remove the boards so I have placed an additional 200mm of loft insulation over most of the boards. I want to use a small area for storing boxes, suitcases etc so I was considering using some Knauf Space Boards on top of the loft boards to increase the insulation and then storing my boxes on top.

Does this make sense ?

Has anyone else used Knauf Space Boards ?

Would I need to put extra loft boards on top of the Knauf Space boards or can I store things (and walk) directly on the Knauf Space Boards ?

Also, are there any other alternative products as the Knauf Space Boards are quite expensive ??

Thanks

Matt

Seems expensive for what they are. Probably better off ordering standard 8x4 foil backed sheets and boarding over these. 12mm chipboard or ply would be adequate. Glue the boarding down with some no nails type adhesive.
They won't fit in the loft but can be cut lengthways with an old saw and fed through the hatch.
