I am re-boarding a ceiling which has one very irregular exposed beam - which was mainly put there for aesthetic reasons. The plasterboard is fixed to floor joists which are perpendicular to this beam and there is no open fire or other ignition sources in the room.
How do I seal the gap between the plasterboard and the beam in a way which satisfies fire regs? I can’t put a battens on the beam – it is for too wonky for that.
Is fire rated expanding foam acceptable – or will that crack?
