I have just coated a newly exposed brick wall with Bedec Interior Stone and Brick Sealer and it is crap.

It was darkened all the bricks and left a sheen that looks like a thin coat of plastic over all of them

I have found a far cheaper and better sealer, Raincheck Eco, which actually does what it says and leaves the brick looking as if untreated without the plastic look.

The brick work is about 100 years old and has been laid on edge with wood supports and cross pieces.

Is there any way of removing the Bedec rubbish and replacing it so I can preserve it ?

I have always used 50% turps mixed with 50% linseed oil. This works great and they stay dead flat. Anything you put on will darken the bricks slightly anyway.
