Hi, I have a twin socket about half way down the wall on a spur. I need to move the socket further down the wall and of course the wire comes in from the ceiling and is all plastered into the wall.
Is there any 'approved' way of extending the wire so that its still hidden in the wall? I could quite easily solder on another length and insulate with epoxy but suspect this is not acceptable. A junction box seems a bit over the top and rather large to bury in the wall. Can anyone tell me if its OK to use the plastic connector strip with screw terminals or of any ingenious way you have used to extend cable without a major redecoration?

As long as you keep the pattress there and just cover the connections with a blank plate, then yes connector blocks will be sufficent... remember to make sure there is an earth connection to the patress though!

EDIT:

Junction boxes are not to be buried in walls
