It is still allowed to extend the ring using junction boxes that will be surfaced mounted?

In the kitchen I have a couple of pantry rooms, in one a double socket has been spurred off from the ring using a junction box, this socket then has another double socket spurred from it.

The other option is to place a fused connection box prior to the first socket.

First option would be to fit fused connector if not able to access sockets either side, spur off spur is a NO,NO. Work in kitchens is also notifiable.

you should only have one unfused spur from each socket wired correctly in to the ring final circuit, j/b are not good practice and it is better to extend the RFC from the sockets
