Hello, can anyone help me here. My roofer installed a tile vent with ducting pipe as below and told me just to cut a hole in the plasterboard ceiling when I was read to attach the extractor fan. It turns out that its position is so tight into the eaves that the ducting is squashed and distorted.

It's in the middle of 3 tile rows below the ridge. Not that I want to even think about getting on the roof to move the tile vent, but putting it on the row above to give it more space would mean it was directly under the ridge tile - are they designed to sit under a ridge tile?

Or could I try cutting it down and taping it up, or is that a bad idea? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Any chance of a piccie of the inside along with the squashed duct. The images you have put up are pointless.

Thanks for the replies

Won't be able to do it til Monday, will a sketch do?! The two rigid edges of the ducting make it too big for the space, hence why I wondered if I could reduce the concertina bit and tape it up.

You can get rectangular adapters .for tight spaces
I've done a search but can't see what would help, would you mind pointing me in the direction of one?

You can get ridge tile vents.
Thanks - I'm hoping there's a solution which won't involve getting on the roof but that might be my last resort!
