My hotpoint dy46x fan oven won't reach above 50C is it likely tobe the oven element or is there a thermostat i should consider as well.

How do you know it gets to 50?
The chances are its the element, it could als be a wire that has burn out at the element terminal.
Best thing if you are a diyer, is switch off at mains & remove the back panel.
Do a visual inspection on the terminals & then get a meter & measure the element

Sorry didn't answer before had to go to work last night ,any how got a leccy from work to have a look on the way home this morn and confirmed it is the element,new one on order,many thanks.
