I have a Britannia range electric double oven with a faulty thermostat. The Hob comes off and I have located the faulty thermostat which I have detached but there is a fixed red wire connecting the thermostat with the back of the oven ( I presume this is the termperature sensor). It appears to be fixed behind the oven surrounded by insulation wool. How easy will it be to get to the wire and remove it?
Any help before my wife insists on getting in the experts would be most welcome.

I do not know this model.
But replacing a t/stat is not difficult.
THe t/stat should be seen inside the oven it will be clipped in place, you need to remove the phial from the clip.
THe insulation at the back of the oven can be CAREFULLY pulled back. Replace the t/stat, not the wiring connections.

SWITCH OFF THE POWER FIRST

Thanks for the swift reply.
Will move the range out this weekend and give it a go
