Hi,
I am treating my fence panels with a clear preservative. Its quite expensive compared to the coloured ones with you can get massive tubs of at a good price. Anybody know a cheaper clear alternative which is a good price. I am getting only 2 panels per 5L of sika at the moment
Many thanks

wood preservative is not the same thing as fence stain.

Are you paying about £30 per 5 litres?

It is unnecessary, profligate and environmentally damaging to use this poisonous product on fence panels. It is intended to kill fungus and insects. Fence panels are not prone to rot because they are too thin to maintain the suitable water content.

What colour do you want the fence to be after it has weathered?

I wanted them to be just a natural colour with no stain. I don’t mind if they turn grey just as long as they don’t rot.
