Jim, I noticed your earlier post.It's qute possible your heat exch is scaled,but these boilers are sometimes quite difficult to fault find.Any number of things may cause your symptoms,scale,faulty temp sensors,gas valve or modureg.With all due respect I would advise against attempting a diy repair.Trained RGI required.Good luck.
Dont want to sound like im blowing my own trumpet, but thanks for the advice mate, but i have diagnosed probs on this boiler for the last 7 years or so, maybe taking me longer than you professionals but 90% of the time getting it right.i never touch anything involving undoing any gas pipes etc but on the rest i am more than confident and competent. All i need is the service manual so i can see what thermostat goes where as im going to replace these as a matter of cause as they are cheap.I have also read about the heater exchange being scaled up and descaling this would be my next step if the replacement of the thermostats does not do the trick, many thanks.
