My 99 Fiat Bravo 1600 seems to be firing on only 3 cylinders, hence power
is a bit naff in the extreme. I have checked all leads, replaced spark plugs
and added fuel injector cleaner to the petrol without any improvement.
There is a good spark on all plugs but have noticed that when I remove
the lead from cylinder closest to kerbside, there is no change in the tickover [which is lumpy] but when I remove any of the remaining leads the engine stops. I'm guessing fuel injector which sounds expensive but
would be grateful for other suggestions.

Coil packs are more common failures then fuel injectors, but if you can measure the resistance across the injector you are looking for around 14 ohms.
They cost around £50 from a motor factors.
If that seems ok, go for a compression test.
John :)

Yes coil pack would be more likely. It may not be able to jump the plug gap when in the engine yet work OK outside.

Move the injector to another cylinder if the problem moves then you have the fault. If it stays, as above check the compression.
