Fiat punto power problem

Hello everyone
I have a fiat punto 1.2 O2reg and my engine light keeps flicking on and it seems i lose power sometimes theres no power at all so i have to take key out and reset it, once i have done this it seems ok for a while then does it again any ideas of wat it could be

difficult to diagnose a fault like this but its better for you to get someone to read the engine management fault codes, at least they will be able to point you in the right direction.
sounds like a missfire of some sort though, maybe plugs or coil packs
