Hope someone can help with this !

I have a fibre glass pond that I need to move and I'm thinking that when I move it I'd like to make it slightly above the the surrounding ground level. The deepest part is 2ft and their is a shelf at 9". I thinking if I make it that the shelf and of course the deep part are on the ground and just the top 9" is above ground and then packing this with soil and then building a brick wall around it. So the question is am I ok simply placing the bricks dry or will I need to build a proper wall ?

Thanks

Pete
