hi all I need to fill in some nail holes in my skirtings and facings primed mdf, so what would you use ?

I'd be more specific and say 2-pack wood filler. The 1-pack stuff tends to shrink and sink a little over time
I use ordinary ready-mixed white filler (polyfilla equivalent).

It always sinks eventually, tbough
Never had that problem.
If there are any impacts to the timber then basic filler can crack or pop out.
