filling nails holes in redwood

New doors, redwood architrave skirting board stairs and handrail all now fitted so i need a filler that will cover up and fill the holes left behind by all the nails it must be easy and quick to sand as there are hundreds to fill.
And what is the best grade of sandpaper to sand the filler smooth with,
