Skirting Board Nail Holes

Hi

Newly fitting skirting boards, what to fill the nail holes with? Whats the best filler? Or just a wood filler form DIY stores, apply, sand and prime

If the final finish will be painted any type of filler will do. Either decorators caulk from a gun but personally I like one strike, easy to use, sand and dries quickly.

Thanks I had read use a 2 part wood filler rather than a ready to use, yes it will be painted white finish
