Filling this gap above strike plate

Hi everyone
We are totally new to DIY and are changing over the door handles in our house which are old and don’t function properly anymore.
I was really pleased to get everything aligned with the new lock and strike plate.
I’m left with this gap above the strike plate where things had to shift- what can I fill this with to make it look a bit neater?

Filler , remove plate , add filler around edge and refit while wet , this will push out excess and wipe away carefully with damp cloth or sponge.
