filling walls - sealing filler

After I've filled and sanded the imperfections in my walls do I need to seal the filler prior to washing down and then papering? as I've filled before and when I've washed the walls down the filler rubs away

what about all the dust - wont it stop the paper sticking properly if its got dust all over it ????

Just give the wall a dust over with a soft brush afterwards..but most of it would have just fell to the floor anyway..filling over a contaminated wall will cause will cause you bigger problems.
