Hi,
Im looking to find information on fire tents, ive started to notice that depending on where im working up and down the country the requirments seem to differ. Im about to install 50+ spot lights which ive been told i have to use fire tents to meet regulations, as ive be involved in electrical contracting for some years now ive seen fire tents come and go, once every job i worked on we fit them, then the regulations changed and we stopped. Ive also contacted building regulation who say that it is no longer complusary to install fire tents but is a good saftey measure. Can anybody point me in the direction of legisation that backs this up.

Cheers :D

IIRC if the ceiling is required to be a fire barrier then you need to fit them but most domestic ceilings are not.

However some building control departments got the idea that they should be fitted everywhere and fighting building control while possible is probablly not a smart idea.
