Hi all,

Window fitter smashed a window while fitting... he replaced the glazing but there appears to be a tear inside the glazing panes.

I questioned it and his response was:

'That's the spacer bar that has a tear in it that will form back after a bit of sunshine on it as it's a butyl.'

Is he being honest with me? What does that even mean.....???

No it won't, that looks like 'super spacer' to me, a sort of silicone rubber type strip sometimes used instead of the aluminium spacer, how the hell did he damage it is the question as its sealed in to the cavity, he has no access to it unless something has pressed against the hot melt while still soft and pushed through but thats a glass shop issue not his problem so his glass shop should remake him a new unit FOC
