Hi people. Just need a bit of friendly advice please. I am fitting a new light in the ceiling of my lounge. Its operated by 2 way switching, one at each end of the lounge. When I have taken the old light fitting down, I can see a twin and earth and a 3 core and earth. The new light fitting only has a connector block for L,N,E so it would work fine on a normal one way switch I guess. How do I fit this or have I bought the wrong light fitting??

Did you take a note of where the original connections are/were?
The problem is with many modern style light fittings is that they tend not to offer a spare terminal for the live loop(permanently live).
What you have is a terminals for earth, neutral and switch live.
The conductors on the existing/the fitting being replaced should be copied across to the new fitting for earth, neutral and switch live, then the conductors for the live loop (permanently live)connected to the spare if one or a connector strip will be required, these are then terminated together.

Thanks guys. I think I have sussed it from that explanation. I stupidly didn't take note of the wiring before removing the old light fitting, then it got dark and I was left trying to work it out.

All working now, thank you!!! :D
