FITTING A RADIATOR

i want to replace a large radiator with a new smaller one. i disconnected the old one no problem but unfortunately i threw the bracket screws away and as i had the wall plastered i have no screw holes to compare with the
new btackets. i can connect a radiator no problem but any ideas about marking and fixing the brackets??
