Fitting an Integrated Dishwasher

We are planning a re-vamp of our kitchen and could do with some thoughts on fitting an integrated dishwasher. The kitchen is a 'galley' arrangement with the sink and the dishwasher comprising the central section, currently we have an old noisy freestanding dishwasher sitting in an open space next to the sink. Behind this dishwasher are 5 pipes, hot, cold, 2 central heating and feed to garden tap. These are quite close to the wall, about 20mm projection although the elbow for the turn to the garden tap sits out a little more than that, 3 of these pipes are well above the pipework recess you get at the bottom of dishwashers. As a result the front of the freestanding dishwasher sits about 20mm out from the door on the adjacent kitchen unit. We have assumed that if we simply replace this freestanding unit with an integrated version, it too would sit out 20mm?

Consequently we are thinking that to fit an integrated dishwasher we will have to do a lot of re-plumbing or we could fit the new kitchen sink unit 20mm out from the wall and cover the top with an extra wide worktop so that an integrated dishwasher could then line up OK. This would push the 2 sides of the galley 20mm further along the wall than at present but we have room to do this.

When we fitted our kitchen we pulled all the units a little bit forward to have enough room the accommodate an integrated dishwasher and washing machine.
We then used a worktop that was a few mm wider, 616 rather than 600mm, but once this was put down with the same overlap to the front as the worktop on another side of the kitchen, there was still a small gap at the back. To"fill" you can put tiles, plasterboard or an upstand as needed - a job I still need to finish...

I think it is worth to put in the effort to integrate the appliances!
