I am not an electrician but i am i have fitted plugs and numerous things to do with electrics. however i am stumped with how i fit this new dimmer swich light. About 3 years ago we had new electrics fitted because the old ones were very old. coming from the ceiling the wires i have are as follows
in one bunch i have (yellow/green wire. black wire, and a red wire
in 2nd bunch i have the same
and in third i have yellow/green wire, black wire with red band and a red wire.
i scanned in the way the instructions says it shoiuld be fitted but im still unsure how. if someone is interested in this, i could show you the scanned instructions and then maybe you can tell me where the wires go
cheers

i had a look but the wires dont seem 2 be the same colour so im still not sure. i can fit it up if someone can tell me where to put the wires. i can post any pictures you may need to help?

could i email someone the instruction i scanned in then i can find out where the wires go plse

not really, since they can only re-iterate what the instructions tell you, since the instructions tell you where the wires go, what else can we tell you?

also as has been pointed out, the way to wire it, is in the wiki

if you wnat why not post the picture of the instructions (for waht good it will do)

posting a picture info is in forum information

Is this a light with the dimmer built in, in which case how do you dim it?

To connect those wires coming out of your ceiling you need a total of four terminal blocks: one for the three reds, one for the three green/yellows (those are your earths), one for the two blacks plus the neutral side of the light and, finally, one for the red sleeved black plus the live side of the light. That's how you wire up a standard ceiling rose. What terminals have you got in your light fitting?
