Hi
Last weekend I fitted an ideal standard space corner toilet. The cistern came with a pre-fitted bottom entry filling valve (torbeck type?). It came with a small blue plastic spiral inserted in the inlet end of the valve. When I turned the water on (3 bar pump) the water only trickled through the valve. I disconnected the pipework and discovered that the water pressure had forced this insert about 4-5 inches up inside the valve inlet and was wedged tight. I had to remove the valve and dismantle it to get this fitting out. Can someone tell me what this insert is for and is it necessary and how can I prevent it from getting stuck up in the pipe again?
Many thanks
Ian
