Fitting outside tap

My son has asked me to fit an outside tap to his newly bought house. The only mains water supply at the ground floor garden end of his house is the inlet supply to his combi boiler. Is there any reason why I can't take a tee off that supply?

No, as long as you fit a double check valve and isolation valve; as you would when connecting to any other supply.
