Hi, got a mid quality plastic composite shower base 1000x1200.

Instructions ask you to put it on 18mm ply then bed it down with weak cement mix? Will this not crack up, even if i do put the plastisizer in?

Could i not use a granno mix? (note i need to put an amount down about 10mm thick to level up.

What advice can you give please.

Stone resin trays are basically a concrete resin mix with a thin gel coat resin on the surface. As opposed to GRP, they are very brittle & must be fully supported over their base to avoid point loading & cracking; hence the need for a weak, fairly dry mortar mix. The weak mix wont crack & you don’t need to add anything else but can if it makes you feel happier.
