Hi folks,

I have a few small problems in my cooking area.

Link to photos https://goo.gl/photos/XLE16j96doui3NT48
  • The hobbs ignition is stuck and if I turn on the switch it fires continously. The ignition button is stuck and I have tried to clean it with MD40 but yet I have seen not improvement. This is particularly annoying because I cannot switch on the light or vent.
  • Replacing/cleaning the chimney filter. Would you clean it as shown here or buy a replacement?
  • How to repair the lights. If you can see in the photos I have one working but the other is not. Is there a way to get the full part from the manufacturer ? I tried googling but I could not find parts that looked like what I need in my kitchen.
Failing a diy approach who could best help or what shops you suggest visiting to get the right parts?

Thank you

Look here for new switch http://www.cooker-parts.co.uk/10228/info.php?p=12&cat=18295 & you should be able to get to the back of the lights with the filters removed & see how they are held in place, I would suspect they will just be clipped in place & gently lever out, you should then be able to replace the bulb.
Personally I would buy new filters (they should be available on e-bay but a google search will find them if you know the manufacturer) looking at the state of those & clean them more regularly in the future.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the appliance and found the Hob make and model, as you can see here https://goo.gl/photos/VCUADMyE3HYSaRf26

Make : Fagor (apparently belongs to Whirlpool now)
Model : FE-950 GLI BUT

I have checked with partsmaster.co.uk, called Whirlpool and also tried to contact the manufacturer site in spain but it looks like there are no parts for this Hob. Anyone can suggest where these could be found? I really dont not see how i can identify the part on cooker-parts.co.uk. Looks like you need the exact model number but cannot find anything when searching for FE-950

You seem to have exhausted efforts to get genuine original parts so the only options seem to me to be either buy a new hob or take it out & look at the construction inside to see if a switch from another manufacturer will fit. It seems to me that it may only be a normally open minature push switch that you may even be able to get from RS components or similar company. If you do not feel competent to do that then you will probably need to get a gas safe engineer to disconnect & remove the hob for you, perhaps even dismantle it & see what the inside looks like.
