I ve got a White Oak Pigs ear hand rail to fit.

How would you folks fix it?

The wall is plaster board on dabs on a thermalite brick

I intend to hid the fixings with plugs.

Many thanks.

Probably need to cut back the plasterboard to dimension of hand rail fixing, and clean back to blockwork, then fit timber to bring the wall flush and fix to the installed timber.

I had considered your suggestion foxhole but creating hard points behind each fixing.

I used your method yo fix a toilet cistern to a wall of the same construction. This has held well.

I ll make some exploratory holes and see the depth. Many thanks.
