flagstone floor clean up

I have a flagstone floor in my kitchen which has been sealed with some form of resin. I've just moved in and would like to clean up some areas of the floor which have become a bit marked. Any ideas the best way to do this. Should I remove the resin with some form of chemical, then clean or what?
