I'm looking for possible options to insulate a flat roof. Most of it covers a garage which does not need insulation, but some of it also covers interior rooms which get very hot in the summer and cold in winter months because there is no insulation.
Removing the ceiling to put insulation between the joists is not an option. Therefore I am considering insulation boards on top of the roof but this is only required for a portion of the area. Is insulating part of the area possible?
The felt is relatively new so I was also wondering if it could be kept. Could insulation go on top of it?
I have no expertise so suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.
