has anyone any idea where to buy a floating shelf approx 400 deep in order to fit my home cinema dvd player.All the ones I have found have only been a maximum of 350mm deep and as a result the front of the dvd player would overhang the shelf.

you could make one with a bit of suitably thick MDF. Could look a little tacky though!
