Hi,I am wanting to fit a mantle shelf to my solid brick wall,the mantle is 5ftx1ftx3inches thick, any heavy duty brackets which would be strong enough to support this, any suggestions.

Drill the wall and back of teh shelf and then resin bond steel rods into the holes, those brackets are not that sturdy, have a look at the last 3 pics on this page
