I've got a property on a corner at the bottom of a slope.Last winter after heavy rain the main drain wouldn't take it and the water built up... over the dropped curb and into my driveway.
It flooded the whole of the front garden and eventually right round the house.
The council admit the drains are at fault on the road, and all attempts to unblock them have failed. They inform me the whole road has to be dug up and the drains relaid...but this could take up to a year.(Or longer with finances being cut)
To avoid a repeat flooding I want to raise the gates and build a hump across the drive entrance.(3 to 4 inches high) Not a 100% barrier I know, but it will help a helluva lot.
The ground surface is part concrete...part asphalt.
Which materials would do the best job?
