Plenty of noggins underneath and lots of screws.

- Would save me a lot of cash!

So Ill get a load of 2x2 and use that for the noggins

Weathersafe chipboard??? that's a new one. Looks like OSB in the pic, which in itself is a compromise between 'proper' chipboard and plywood.
yeh will save money, but hope you haven't saved money on the plumber, otherwise it could cost you lots of money if there's a leak!

But to re-iterate, still an improvement on chipboard.
