Flooring room transition advice - Laminate to Carpet

Hi folks,

I am looking for some advice on a good transition from laminate to carpet?

I have included a few photographs.

Should I just add a bit of laminate plank until it is directly under the door?

I can then cut the carpet a little until they match up under the door (when closed) and then install a wooden or metal transition strip. Does that sound about right?
