Can anyone tell me where to buy a water flow switch to fit a 15mm copper pipe (either compression or quick fit will do ), it is to be used to switch on an extractor fan when the shower starts.

I have looked on the internet and cannot seem to find what I need. Does anyone know what make/model is best, and where to find it.

Regards

Humidistat?
Is the shower electric in any way? What sort, in fact is it?
Lots of flow switches in boilers but I don't know of one designed exactly for your purpose.
What voltage/current?
Here's a few...

Good idea but you really need an over run!

Thats why they are usually fitted to the light switch.

You can also get a fan controlled by the humidity ! Humidistat !

shower is Aqualisa Quartz Digital. Running of a combi. don't want an overrun, thats why i haven't bought one. Bathroom right next to master bedrrom and wall not to thick, current fan is overun and it annoys me, especially as my wife elaves at 4am and it wakes me up.

Bought a Soler & Palau inline, 250 cu m per hour, so should extract all if it starts when shower starts and ends when finished?

I have seen your picture before of the diffferent switches, but what I want is which model and where to buy, for 15mm pipe.

Another suggestion would be a standard pull switch for the extractor that you could put on off as you please.

Easier than flow switches and more reliable.

Why does just the over run wake you up???

Surely waking up happens just once and if the fan is goint to wake you up it will do that DURING the shower.

Furthermore your more powerful fan will be more noisy and disturb you more.

Another point the air flow quoted is in free air. What it can pull with the bathroom door shut will be much less. I always advise an air inlet grille to enable to fan to be more effective.

A bathroom needs a fan overrun to prevent moisture affecting the building fabric. Humidly fans are the best as they come on when there is any excess moisture in the air. But they nuisance trip during the night.

I meant to say that the fan coming on with the light wakes me up. I'd rather have it turn on when there is a need for it. I.e. shower running or to humid. Anyone suggest any good humidity sensors? might go down that route instead as it could be more reliable. That way if your not showering it shouldn't be on and if you are then it runs as long as needed, yes?
