I am in the process of replacing a Fluid Master Flapper valve with a Fluid Master dual flush. My cistern has a 2" outlet, whereas the dual flush has 1 1/2" fittings! Although it says on the box that dual flush would work with 1 1/2" or a 2" outlet, I am not so sure whether the fittings supplied (1 1/2") are sufficient to prevent leaks in the future. Do I need a 2" to 1 1/2" adaptor? Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated.

I think it uses a larger, more sturdy washer that comes with the kit. Is it from Screwfix?

Thanks for your reply, and yes, it's from Screwfix.

Yup, you use the larger washer supplied loose with it, I normally put all together with a bit of silicone too for good measure

Ok, do you mean the rubber washer (as opposed to the foam one that's comes attached to the outlet). Will try that. Thanks for the silicon tip, I'll do likewise. Would silicon also be a good idea for the bolts connecting the cistern to the pan?

Read the Instructions!

We're men. We're not supposed to read instructions :-)

I always silicone bolts in too. Make sure you bin the foam washer, use the larfe one but make sure it centres in the hole in the cistern otherwise you'll get wet................

Thanks. I have put it back and all works fine.
