Flushing out and adding inhibitor to C.H

How often should a domestic central heating system be flushed out, and an inhibitor added. I last did mine in October 2003.
 
If you know what additive was used check manufacturers instructions. I think minimum for any make is 3 years but thats on a vented system.
Theoretically if you have not lost any water from your system it should last indefinitely as no new water introduced into the system = no more chemical reactions going on.
