Hello all,
I want to board our loft so I'm looking at suitable products that will offer some insulation and a good solid floor, installed over mineral wool between joists. Combined foam and chipboard slabs are very expensive compared to using separate slabs of PIR and then boarding over with chipboard.
What I want to know is, can I use foil backed PIR without the risk of creating any issues with damp?
I understand that when used on the roof an air gap must be maintained to allow circulation, but does this also apply to the floor area in this example?
If it's not recommended, where can I find insulation boards that don't have a foil backing... I'm not finding any
Thanks
